Why this site exists

Most Ireland itineraries online are the same fifteen places in a different order, written by someone who has never driven the Conor Pass in the rain. This one is smaller on purpose, and specific on purpose.

How the journeys are put together

Every journey here is a route we would drive ourselves. That means real driving times rather than satnav times, an opinion about what to skip, and a named town to sleep in at the end of each day. Where something is seasonal, weather-dependent or books out months ahead, the page says so rather than leaving you to find out at the pier.

Each page carries the month it was last checked. When a boat stops running or a house changes hands, the page changes.

No ads, no sponsorship

There are no ads, no sponsored placements and no affiliate links anywhere on this site. Nothing here is recommended because someone paid for it to be.

Photographs are licensed, and the credit is printed under each one.

If something here is wrong, a road closed, a boat that no longer runs, a price that has moved, we would like to know. Tell us and we will check it and update the page.
